How to Use Chemical Guys V4 for the Best Results?
IMPORTANT: Always work on a clean, dry, and cool paint surface. Shake the bottle well before use. Using a machine polisher is recommended for best correction results.
1. Machine Polishing (with Dual Action / DA Polisher):
- Apply 4-5 drops of V4 onto a medium-cut or finishing pad (e.g., orange, white, or black Chemical Guys Hex-Logic, depending on the desired level of correction).
- Spread the product over a small section (approx. 2'x2' or 50x50cm - 60x60cm) on a low speed setting (1-2).
- Increase speed to 4-5 and polish with moderate pressure, using slow overlapping passes (several times up-down, then several times left-right).
- Gradually decrease pressure during the final 1-2 passes.
- Continue working until the polish turns clear (typically 4-6 complete passes).
- Turn off the machine and remove residue with a clean, soft microfiber towel.
2. Machine Polishing (with Rotary Polisher):
- Apply 4-5 drops of V4 onto an appropriate polishing pad (pad choice depends on paint condition and experience).
- Spread the product over the section (~2'x2') on a low speed (~1000 RPM).
- Increase speed to 1200-1800 RPM and polish using only the weight of the machine, performing slow overlapping passes and keeping the machine level. Do not apply additional pressure!
- Continue working until the polish turns clear.
- Remove residue with a clean, soft microfiber towel.
3. Hand Polishing (for very small areas or minor defects):
- Apply a small amount of V4 onto a microfiber applicator pad.
- Vigorously rub the product over the small area using circular or straight-line motions.
- Continue working until the polish starts to turn clear.
- Remove residue with a clean microfiber towel.
Note: Hand application is significantly less effective for scratch correction compared to machine polishing and is primarily suited for cleaning and light polishing.
